Forx Roller Derby is both sport and business and strives to maintain healthy relations with local businesses as well as chains. Though skaters are aggressive, loud, and fast at their bouts, they are professional and ethical in approaching their current and prospective sponsors. Roller derby is not simply a physical contact sport but a sisterhood that allows women to fulfill needs that may not be met at home or work. Skaters spend several hours a week, getting into shape, learning the techniques required for the game, and studying pages upon pages of rules and strategies while simultaneously carrying out the duties of their day to day lives. These skaters are mothers, students, and professionals who have discovered an empowering, fast-paced outlet.
